Taylor Swift is well-known not only for her infectious songwriting and all-ages fan group, but also her reputation for ladylike behavior and attire. Still, the 21-year-old superstar--like many big names before her--has found herself the subject of some rather sordid gossip over the weekend.
According to TMZ, Swift has sicced her lawyers on a tabloid site called Celeb Jihad, who has published what it claims to be a "leaked" topless photo of her.
Swift's legal team has reportedly stated that the site contains "false pornographic images and false 'news'" about the singer, and threatens a lawsuit for trademark infringement if the photo is not taken down.
The site in question has not removed the photo yet; instead choosing to put up a news item stating that Swift is furious with and "waging war" against them.
TMZ noted that Swift's camp had no comment on the matter. (Our own request for comment was unreturned as well.)
If Swift is indeed furious over this incident, she's doing a fineRead More »from Taylor Swift Reportedly Fighting False Explicit Photo On Tabloid Site

Okay, so anyone who's watched the video for Toby Keith's "Red Solo Cup" knows that the singer isn't talking about filling the vessel up with Gatorade or apple juice. Still, the distinctly 21-and-over ode to partying has been given an unlikely green light--it's been tapped as a possible number on Fox's musical series Glee.
But hey. Wait a min, aren't those kids on Glee supposed to be high school (i.e., underage) students? Kids that shouldn't know anything about Solo cups unless they are drinking chocolate milk out of them? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Apparently this doesn't bother the series' creator, Ryan Murphy, who told Rolling Stone on Wednesday that Keith's song was under consideration for use.
Now that particular episode is bound to have an entertaining storyline, eh?
No word from Keith on the matter yet, although he has proclaimed "Red Solo Cup" to be "the stupidest song" he's ever heard in his life--albeit a frustratingly catchy one. I'm sure he's delighted that he can put an earwormRead More »from Toby Keith’s ‘Stupidest Song’ Ever To Get ‘Glee’ Treatment
Fans of Lionel Richie's work as a pop and R&B phenomenon may be surprised to find out that the superstar has decided to out himself as a proud "country boy." But that's exactly what Richie is planning this year--the singer-songwriter is releasing an album of duets with notable Nashville stars, and he'll be debuting this new direction at the Country Music Association Awards on November 9.
Richie will be appearing on the CMA Awards stage with Rascal Flatts, Darius Rucker, and Little Big Town to preview his upcoming album Tuskegee, which is slated for release in March 2010.
For the record, in which he reinterprets some of his biggest career hits as duets with country stars, he has tapped such bigwigs as Shania Twain, Willie Nelson, Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, Willie Nelson, and Jimmy Buffett. The country artists will be joining him on such familiar tunes as "Say You, Say Me," "Easy," "Stuck On You," and all the other Richie classics you can think of off the top of your head.

It's been a few years since Vince Gill had a new album out…
five, to be exact. Bear in mind, though, that that last album, These Days, was an unprecedented four-CD
set of all new material. So if he had just parceled the discs in that
collection out on an annual basis in the intervening years, he would've seemed
like the busiest guy in country.
How do you follow up a 43-song, four-CD set? Did Gill feel
under any pressure to make a six-disc set this time?
"I didn't know the heck what to do," he laughs. "I thought
about doing just one downloadable song and making that available and seeing
what happened. Go from 43 to one!"
Fortunately, he's back with Guitar Slinger, a set that features a very reasonable… no, not 43,
and no, not just one, but 12 tracks. He performed three of them for the Yahoo!
Music cameras in Nashville, including his new single, "Threaten Me With Heaven."
After his set, we sat down with the CountryRead More »from Live! Vince Gill Slings Three Songs From His New Album

Vince Gill's waited a few years to put out a new record--well, okay, speaking for his fanbase, it's been five really long years.
I could be cliche and simply say the finished product is more than worth the wait (as pretty much anyone would guess of such a storied artist as Gill). However, Guitar Slinger falls into a category of its own within Gill's body of work. The album offers its share of smoking guitar licks and rollicking beats, but the most moving moments on the collection offer a wry but tender mix of practicality, mortality, and sentimentality that somehow doesn't veer into overkill. It's a fine balance, and it reminds us that Gill is getting older (as are we all). But it's not a bad thing.
Back in March, I had the pleasure of seeing Gill preview two songs from the album at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. The first one, "If I Die," was co-written by the Pistol Annies' Ashley Monroe--sung from the perspective of an everyday sinner, the lyrics finally deliver oneRead More »from Vince Gill Offers Maturity, Mortality On ‘Guitar Slinger’

Little Big Town has fast established a reputation as the "country cover band" over the past year. Not only has the quartet hand-selected such unlikely cover tunes as Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" and Adele's "Rolling In The Deep"--they've managed to pretty much one-up the original versions every single time with their unique country-specific touch.
No small--er, Little--feat when one is choosing songs that are already major hits for their respective original artists. But, guess what, LBT has done it yet again.
This time, they have decided on Maroon 5's No. 1 hit with Christina Aguilera, "Moves Like Jagger." As we all know, the song pays homage to the legendary Mick Jagger, utilizes an infectious whistled melody, and the video features a heck of a lot of Adam Levine's shirtless chest. LBT's version subs banjo for whistle, and everyone keeps their clothes on--but the spirit of Mick is just as strong here. It's simply a bit southern-ized!
Here's LBT's version of the song, followed byRead More »from Little Big Town Puts Country Spin On ‘Moves Like Jagger’

Troubled former teenage star Amanda Bynes has left a California facility after court-ordered psychiatric treatment and is recovering at her parents' home in Los Angeles, People magazine said on Thursday. The 27-year-old actress was receiving psychiatric care at a Malibu facility after she was alleged to have started a small fire in the front of a home in Thousand Oaks, a Los Angeles suburb, in July. "Amanda has completed her inpatient rehabilitation and she's feeling better every day," lawyer Tamar Arminak said in a statement released to the magazine. "Despite the fact Amanda is no longer in a facility, her outpatient treatment is continuing," he added.
