The "Little Rascals" crew is steadily growing...and the latest member to the gang is on its way. Rascal Flatts bassist Jay DeMarcus and his wife, Allison, just announced on Wednesday that they are expecting their second child, due to arrive this summer.
The DeMarcus family addition will join big sister Madeline Leigh, who was born in December 2010. According to Daddy DeMarcus, it seems the new baby was not planned: "This was definitely a huge surprise," he noted.
However--of course--everyone in the family is ecstatic with the news. "We're so thankful and excited that Maddie is going to have a brother or sister," DeMarcus confirmed. "We're really gonna have our hands full!"
Allison DeMarcus agrees. "Jay and I are thrilled about completing our family," she said. "Madeline is going to love having a sibling and we are bracing ourselves for the many sleepless nights ahead." You got that right, sister!
DeMarcus met his wife, a former Miss Tennessee and CMT personality, when she was cast in the video for "These Days." The couple married in 2004. Their new son or daughter will be the latest in the Flatts kiddo crew, which also includes Madeline Leigh, Gary LeVox's two daughters, and Joe Don Rooney's son and daughter.
Additionally, the new baby will have another well-known country musician in the family--Uncle James Otto, who's married to Allison DeMarcus's sister Amy. Pretty fun, huh?
Congrats to the DeMarcus family! Be sure to leave your own well-wishes here. play
