Carrie Underwood: No Kids In The Future…For A Long Time

For those country fans who have patiently been on official babywatch since Carrie Underwood got married in July 2010 (admit it, there are some of you out there!)--looks like there won't be any joyous news soon. According to Underwood, having kids right now "would be a bad idea."

As Underwood explained to OK! this week, her reasoning is that she and her husband, Nashville Predator Mike Fisher, are simply too busy. In addition to her own plans for 2012, "my husband's hockey schedule is absolutely insane," she noted. No kids for Carrie...yet.

For those still hopeful that there will be crocheted baby booties in the future--might as well pack up your knitting needles now. It's definitely gonna be a while. "I think 2013 is probably going to end up being pretty busy as well," Underwood stated.

The wait for a family is all good with the happy couple, though. "We're not ready," Underwood said. "We're enjoying each other and spending time with each other and just having fun and being silly." Good for you, Fishers! Take your time, there's no rush.

For those who question just how hectic Underwood's schedule really is--a quick look at the past couple months is enough to make anyone tired. Since November, she's hosted the Country Music Association Awards, scored a Grammy nomination, was voted Country Weekly's Most Beautiful Woman, and won three American Country Awards. Additionally, she's getting ready for the release of a new album, the follow-up to 2009's Play On--which does not have a firm street date yet.

Do you think Carrie is being wise about family planning? Be sure to let me know what's on your minds.
