Carrie Underwood’s Wedding Cake Choice Takes The Cake!

Everyone's favorite American Idol sweetheart Carrie Underwood and her hockey-hotshot fiance Mike Fisher haven't had time to settle on a date for their wedding. She's in the middle of a tour, he's wrapping up his season with the Ottawa Senators. Yet, despite not even having the day nailed down, they've managed to make a few decisions about the soiree already. In particular, one pretty important detail is settled.

Now, now--don't get too excited--I have no scoop on what Carrie will be wearing for her trip down the aisle (which is what I shamelessly can't wait to find out; how 'bout you?). However, the singer has divulged what kind of cake will be served at the reception.

In an interview with CMT Radio Live, Carrie noted that she's decided on the slightly nontraditional choice of cupcakes rather than your standard massive creation.

The cutest part? The cupcakes will be provided by Tennessee bakery IveyCake, which is owned by the wife of Carrie's bass player, Mike Childers. "[She] makes the most amazing cupcakes in the universe," Carrie raved. Isn't that just too sweet?

In the meantime, don't hold your breath waiting for the wedding date to be announced. Carrie is going to be quite busy on tour until mid-summer, so in terms of wedding planning she admits she's only "working on it here and there." Clearly the pair, who got engaged in December 2009, are in no real rush.

Which sounds fine to me. As far as I'm concerned, as long as they've got the cake part down, that's pretty much what everyone is in it for. Now, if we could just get some hints on that gown she's gonna be wearing, I'd be happy!

As always, be sure to:
