Chely Wright Announces Gender of Twins

Chely Wright and Lauren Blitzer-Wright (Photo: Jason LaVeris)Country singer Chely Wright will be delivering twin babies this summer…and, it looks as if she's going to have a pair of little cowboys!

Wright announced on Joy Behar: Say Anything Thursday night that she and wife Lauren Blitzer-Wright are going to be the proud parents of identical twin boys. She explained to guest host Howard Bragman that they've known about the babies' gender for some time now, but decided to keep the news private for a while.

Bergman had a surprise for Wright upon her news: He handed over two little guitars for the babies. "I’m not sure if they'll write country music or show tunes," joked Wright.

The host also had something for Mom--a plate of her favorite pregnancy craving, French fries, which Wright eagerly dug into during the spot.

"I've gained 30 pounds and most of it is French fries," Wright smiled. She noted that her first trimester was a bit hard--what with the expected exhaustion and nausea--but that she feels great now.

Most importantly, the babies are doing fine as well. "They're healthy babies. They're getting fat!"

Wright and Blitzer's sons are scheduled to make their arrival in June. Congrats to the family!
