Dierks Bentley Covers Foo Fighters Classic Onstage In L.A.

Dierks Bentley really came out fighting for the launch of his 2012 Country & Cold Cans tour in Los Angeles Friday. Okay--well, he came out with a fighter, anyway. A Foo Fighter, that is. Dierks Bentley in Los Angeles

All right, sorry for the terrible pun! But, anyway, Bentley was joined on stage at the Nokia Theater during his set by Foos guitarist Chris Shiflett. The pair did a Flying Burrito Brothers cover ("Sin City") and then Bentley did his best Dave Grohl imitation on the Foos' 1996 smash hit "Big Me"--a song that sounds pretty fantastic with a bit of country flavor.

Although Shiflett is best known for his work in the punk world as well as the rock scene, he's a bona fide country fan--he even has his own country/Americana project, the Dead Peasants, which released its debut in 2010.

Bentley was also joined on stage in L.A. by Country Strong actor Garrett Hedlund, who performed "Hard Out Here" from the movie's soundtrack.

Bentley's tour is slated to run through September--you can keep up with his schedule here. Be sure to let me know if you see any special guests when he comes to your town!
