    Dixie Chick Natalie Maines Criticizes Jason Aldean’s Performance At Grammys

    The Dixie Chicks' Natalie Maines has, certainly, never been known for holding back her opinion. Those who follow her Twitter account are well aware of this--especially this week, when the singer decided to make some observations about a fellow country artist's 2012 Grammy performance.

    "Well the good thing about his mic going out is suddenly the song got a lot more in tune," Maines tweeted on Sunday, while apparently watching the Grammy Awards online. "By 'he' I mean whoever the guy was singing with Kelly Clarkson.""Pitchy" Aldean at the Grammys

    That guy was, of course, multi-Grammy nominee Jason Aldean--performing the hit duet "Don't You Wanna Stay"--whom Maines termed "pitchy."

    When irate fans rushed to his defense, Maines noted that she didn't know Aldean. "I haven't been aware of country music in at least 6 years. It's not my thing," she explained.

    "Top 40 country music just hasn't ever been my thing," she added. "I used to follow it because I felt it was my job to know what was going on. I don't think that anymore."

    Maines ended up softening her words a bit, saying "I'm sure he's usually good," and noting that she "simply made an observation about his pitch problems on the Grammys. I can promise you it wasn't news to him. We all have those nights. It sucks, but it happens."

    Aldean, for his part, chose not to respond on his own Twitter account.

    Maines went on to praise Jennifer Hudson, Taylor Swift, and Bon Iver, but returned to snark mode when it came to Chris Brown. "Hey Chris Brown, Don't forget, O.J. Simpson won awards too," she tweeted.

    Angry comments continued to roll in through the week, which Maines responded to selectively. When told that her "15 minutes were up" by one tweeter, she replied, "I'm as washed up as I want to be. My #1 job is being a Mom to our two boys and it's by choice."Natalie Maines

    When another said "WHEN r u EVER going to learn 2 JUST sing and [shut up]?" Maines responded simply, "Ahahaha."

      Natalie rocks! She is a phenomenal singer. She has been to the Grammy's and has won many. In fact, the album, Taking the Long Way, got literally zero radio exposure and they still won 5 Grammy's.

      she blew her carrier so she has to get in lime light some how. the real reason she was dumped as part of the dixie chicks is because she cant keep her big mouth shut

      it wasn't his mike only........(Aldean) but Kellys mike cut out on her too...and it ruined her coming down the stairs and singing her part......it was faulty equipment that lead to a sub par perfomance....and maines was out of line with her comments...guess that is the only way she can get attention...bring everyone down to her level with trash talk

      It seems that the Dixie Chicks have a lot of trouble with their mouth; And I don't mean musically. For a group that got black balled for negetive comments about other performers they should look into the mirror before they speak.
