Easton Corbin’s Jam At The Exclusive Ram Jam? Helping Soldiers And Their Families

Easton Corbin (Photo: CJ Hicks)Easton Corbin is all smiles as he bounds backstage in the morning just prior to setting up soundcheck for his appearance on the 2012 Ram Jam. It's no wonder he's in a good mood--the Ram Jam is a special, exclusive event just for a select few country fans who were lucky enough to win tickets to the concert, and it's sure to be a fun show to play. However, what's really got Corbin jazzed is another aspect of his participation in the event.

When Ram Trucks launched an all-star country music series, "The Road To Ram Jam," early in the year, the concept was simple. Bring fans closer to artists they love by offering exclusive content--as well the chance to score passes to the invite-only show at the end of the year. Corbin was one of five artists selected for the Ram Jam (along with the Zac Brown Band, Kellie Pickler, Brantley Gilbert, and Billy Currington) and he was given a Ram Truck of his own to drive for a year.

He admits that "one of my favorite parts obviously was driving the truck around," but he's even happier with what will eventually become of the truck. It'll be auctioned off in early 2013, along with the other four trucks, with all proceeds going to a charity of each artist's own choice.

Corbin chose a cause he felt was a high honor to assist: Freedom Alliance, which supports American service members and their families via a variety of initiatives, including offering college scholarships to the children of disabled or deceased soldiers, providing financial assistance to military families in need, and educating the public about the importance of military service.

"What it really comes down to, it's all about helping people," Corbin explains of his charitable choice. "Those men and women overseas, they risk their lives every day for us. This is just a little part of what we can do to help those guys. So that's a great honor, being a part of this. I'd say the greatest honor."

The 30-year-old singer is also looking forward to a busy 2013 just a few short days after his appearance on the December 29 Ram Jam. He smiles and waves off a request for his New Year's resolution, noting that he's already got enough on his plate. His sophomore album, All Over The Road, was released in September and he's preparing to release his second single from the set in January. "It's the title track," he explains, adding that he's got big road plans as well. "We're gonna be on tour with Blake Shelton this summer! So there's a lot of great stuff coming up."

Be sure to stream the Ram Jam concert live on Ram Country starting at 5 p.m. ET--just visit here to join the fun!
