Garth Brooks’s Three-Year Run In Vegas Comes To An End

Garth Brooks (Photo: Kevin Winter)It's hard to believe, but it's been 3 years since Garth Brooks came out of retirement and onto the stage at the Wynn Las Vegas. And now, it seems the show is about to drop the curtain.

Brooks's residency in Sin City, which started in 2009, will wrap on November 17. There are only a few shows before that, so if you're lucky enough to hold tickets, be sure to hang on to them tight!

The highly successful run, which sold out consistently, was originally planned to last 5 years. However, no reasons have been given by either the entertainer or the Wynn folks as to why it's being cut short.

At any rate, both parties seem mutually admiring: Brooks, 50, noted in a release that he "thoroughly enjoyed" his time at the Wynn and called hotelier Steve Wynn "the easiest and best boss I have ever worked for." Meanwhile, Wynn himself mentioned that he thought of Brooks "as a brother" and that the Wynn will "always be a home for him."

What's next for Brooks? Well, speculation has it that he may plan a tour sometime in the near future. He's mentioned before that he planned not to tour until his youngest daughter graduates high school--and that milestone is creeping up quickly. Also, both he and wife Trisha Yearwood have hinted in past interviews that a joint outing may be in the cards.

Country fans visiting Vegas during the holiday season will still be able to catch a coveted live show--Tim McGraw and Faith Hill will open their 10-week dual residency at the Venetian on December 7; while Shania Twain debuts at Caesars Palace on December 1.
