Gloriana’s Sophomore Record Finally Has Release Date

Few bands have weathered as many ups and downs in a short period of time as Gloriana. The trio--which started out as a critically acclaimed quartet--scored an amazing No. 2 debut on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart with their very first album, opened for Taylor Swift on her Fearless tour, and won an ACM Award for top new vocal group. And then, they lost one of their members (Cheyenne Kimball exited the band in 2010 due to personal differences). All before their sophomore record, which fans have been patiently waiting a long time for--three years to be exact.

However--great news!--brothers Tom and Mike Gossin and Rachel Reinert are finally set to release their new album. It's titled A Thousand Miles Left Behind and the street date is July 31. The new album cover

The members had a hand in writing all 11 tracks, including current single "(Kissed You) Good Night." Reinert explains that the band wanted to work on their storytelling skills. "I think people will be able to relate to a lot of these songs because they're honest and come from a place that's real," she notes.

The new material represents a more mature Gloriana, according to Mike Gossin. ""We've grown up a lot as a band and have really honed in on our skills and found our sound," he says.

"Like any new act, we were finding ourselves on the first record--in the recording process and as musicians," adds Tom Gossin. "The new album really just feels like us, who and where we are now, to the point where we know exactly what we want to do and how to get there."

Are you looking forward to finally getting your hands on a new Gloriana album? I know I am--this band has been one of my favorites since they first emerged on the scene. Be sure to let me know your thoughts!
