Jake Owen Says ‘I Do’ Just Weeks After Proposing

Jake Owen certainly doesn't believe in wasting time. Less than a month after surprising his girlfriend Lacey Buchanan with an impromptu onstage proposal, the country singer has said his vows and sealed the deal.

"A best friend for life. I now have a wifey :) my face hurts from smiling. What a wonderful way to start the rest of my life," Owen tweeted on Monday, adding a photo of himself and his new bride standing on the beach in wedding gear.

According to People, the ceremony took place at sunrise in Owen's hometown of Vero Beach, Florida. Although the couple wore designer duds, they were both barefoot on the sand.

Owen met Buchanan when she was cast in the video for his hit "8 Second Ride." She also appears in the his video for "Barefoot Blue Jean Night."

It's been a very busy few days for Owen overall. Over the weekend, he posted a picture of himself in handcuffs--it seems he got a little too rowdy during a Cinco De Mayo celebration (or, come to think of it, perhaps it was a bachelor bash?!)-- accompanied by a string of irate tweets criticizing the police and how the situation was handled.

He's since deleted all of that commentary (and the photo) and apologized for flying off the handle, saying he "embarrassed himself" and his family. "The Sheriffs were doing their jobs and I made an immature decision to announce it to the world," he noted.

Well, Jake, glad you were able to clear things up--it really would have been embarrassing if you'd missed your wedding due to being in the slammer!

Congrats to the new couple. Be sure to leave your well-wishes for them here, too!
