Jake Owen Surprises Girlfriend With Spontaneous Onstage Marriage Proposal

Here's a way to make Easter weekend extra-unforgettable: Forget the chocolate bunnies and go straight for a marriage proposal instead. That's just what country hitmaker Jake Owen did Saturday night, when he spontaneously got down on one knee during a charity concert in his hometown of Vero Beach, Florida.

The lucky gal to receive Owen's offer, girlfriend Lacey Buchanan, was likely as surprised as the rest of the audience--Owen was so unprepared that he didn't even have a ring ready when he led her out onstage for the big question. The singer simply decided the time was right after singing his hit "Don't Think I Can't Love You." He explained that he wanted to propose while all his family and friends were present.

The lady said yes (of course--who could resist such romance?) and Owen tweeted on Sunday, "I'm a happy man. Life is complete."

Owen and Buchanan met while filming the video for Owen's "Eight Second Ride," a steamy clip featuring Buchanan teasing Owen in a strapless black bra and leather pants. Buchanan also appeared in Owen's video for "Barefoot Blue Jean Night."

Oh, and for those who remember the rumors last year that Owen was dating tennis star Serena Williams (the pair were spotted at dinner in Los Angeles together in October)--Williams herself quelled that gossip right when it started by tweeting "I am not dating Jake Owen. He is a great guy with a super amazing girlfriend." Seems like she certainly was telling the truth!

Congratulations to the newly engaged couple! Be sure to leave your well-wishes here too.
