Jason Aldean Addresses Cheating Scandal; Says Family Is Doing Okay

Jason Aldean and wife Jessica (Photo: Frazer Harrison)One thing can be said about Jason Aldean: When he screws up, he's brave enough to own up to it. When the country star was caught getting a bit too friendly with former American Idol contestant Brittany Kerr in a Hollywood bar a little over a week ago, he immediately admitted he'd done wrong and apologized to any fans he may have disappointed.

However, some fans responded by saying Aldean should apologize to his wife, not them--but Aldean appears to have done that, as well. He told CMT on Monday that he and his family are doing okay.

"Everything's fine," he noted. "It's been a tough deal. But I kind of said what I needed to say to them and, hopefully, they understand that. And the rest of it will be us dealing with it in private and trying to fix it."

Aldean took the opportunity to address his fans again regarding the matter: "The people that are standing by us and supporting us, all I've got to say to them is thanks," he said, adding that the situation has been "really embarrassing" more than anything.

Aldean, 35, has been married to his high-school sweetheart Jessica for 11 years. They have two young daughters together. His fifth album, Night Train, will be released on October 16. Fans are no doubt wondering if the incident will affect his showing at the Country Music Association Awards on November 1--he's up for three major awards, including the coveted Entertainer of the Year distinction.
