Country, pop, folk, and all-around songbird Jewel recorded an album of children's lullabies back in 2009. Two years later, she's now ready to put them to use--she and her husband, rodeo star Ty Murray, are expecting a baby of their own!
This will be the first child for the couple, who dated for nearly 10 years before marrying in 2008. As reported by People, the 36-year-old singer discovered she was pregnant the first day on her new job, co-hosting Bravo's upcoming reality series Going Platinum.
"It was so hard to keep it a secret," she said. "I was worried I'd start throwing up on set."
Now in her second trimester, Jewel's most likely past the morning-sickness stage, and well on her way to motherhood. She did not note her exact due date, but she and Murray are currently remodeling their Texas ranch and preparing a nursery for the new arrival.
Jewel noted that getting pregnant was a bit of a struggle--the couple had been trying for about two years without success. She explained that she needed to "slow down" and tame her "workaholic" tendencies in order to achieve her goal.
According to People, Jewel is currently working on a new album of children's music--the release date has not been announced yet, but we're sure it'll come in handy around her household.
Congrats to Jewel and Ty! Are you surprised to hear Jewel is expecting? Be sure to let me know what you think.
As always, be sure to:
