Kix Brooks Set To Release First Solo Single

Okay, Brooks & Dunn have been officially retired for almost two years now. We have a new album from Ronnie Dunn. So...the big question everyone wants to know...will Brooks ever release his own solo music?

Well, the answer is here, and it's yes! Brooks announced Friday that he'll be releasing his first single on March 19. The tune is called "New To This Town" and it features the legendary Joe Walsh (you know, just that guy from the Eagles).New solo music from Kix Brooks on the way!

Brooks, who co-wrote the song with his friends Marv Green and Terry McBride--both of whom have written hits for B&D in the past--will put out the single on Arista Nashville. The label also is home to Brooks & Dunn's catalog, as well as Ronnie Dunn's solo effort.

"It paints the powerful emotion we've all known of lost love," Brooks notes of his new composition. And the uncomfortable situation of running in to that person again."

After playing his final show with Brooks & Dunn in September 2010, Brooks took some time out to explore acting, making his movie debut in the release Thriftstore Cowboy. He also continued with the job he's had since 2006--hosting the syndicated radio show American Country Countdown With Kix Brooks.

Are you excited to hear something solo from Kix? How do you think it will measure up to Ronnie's solo work? Be sure to let me know!
