Lady Antebellum, Hot Chelle Rae Promise Big Surprise For 2012 CMT Awards

The CMT Awards are always known for providing country fans with a wild time--everyone from rapper T-Pain to then-Presidential candidates John McCain and Barack Obama has shown up for the festivities in past years--and this year's show, which takes place Wednesday evening, is sure to be no different.

In fact, we've got a bit of an exclusive scoop on one band who's planned a surprise especially for the ceremonies. Nashville-based pop band Hot Chelle Rae may not be country, but the quartet clearly has friends around town--including superhot trio Lady Antebellum, with whom they've "cooked up" a "little idea" for the awards show.

We can't reveal the entire secret--that would spoil the fun--but check out this behind-the-scenes video in which the guys give some hints about what they and Lady Antebellum have in store for the CMT Awards audience. You'll also get some insights on how they feel about this year's CMT Awards, and which country artists they'd love to collaborate with in the future.

Oh--and as an added bonus, there's a bit of Lady Antebellum rehearsal footage just to whet your appetite for Wednesday's show!

Be sure to tune in right on time (or you'll miss the surprise) for the CMT Awards June 6. It airs on CMT, naturally, at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
