Are you ready for some football?! I sure am, and looks like Lady Antebellum are, too! The Grammy-winning trio are set to perform prior to the first NFL game of the season--the New Orleans Saints vs. the Green Bay Packers--on September 8.
Lady A will be joined by fellow country-rawker Kid Rock, as well as Maroon 5 (whose frontman, Adam Levine, you'll remember rubbed elbows with Blake Shelton on NBC's The Voice). The show will be held outside Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and starts at 7:30 p.m. ET--one hour before kickoff.
If you won't be in Green Bay next week, no worries--you can catch the music from your living room, as it'll be aired on NBC's pregame show as well as the NFL Network.
This show seems to be continuing a welcome trend of including a big-name country artist (or artists, if you count Kid Rock) in the pregame entertainment (which in itself is a fairly recent practice). Last year, Taylor Swift joined the Dave Matthews Band--another country-friendly act--plus jazz singer-songwriter Harry Connick, Jr. in New Orleans to open up the 2010 NFL season.
On a fun, gossipy note: Lady A's Hillary Scott was widely rumored to have dated Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers in past years. However, no awkward moments are in store next week in Green Bay--she's happily engaged to fellow musician Chris Tyrrell as of early last month.
Will you be watching the show--and the game--next week? Be sure to let me know what's on your minds!
As always, be sure to:
