LeAnn Rimes Weds Eddie Cibrian On Good Friday

Well, the long, winding, and often controversial road of LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian's courtship has come to a happy ending. The pair were married on Friday evening in California before a small group of family and friends.

According to People, Rimes and Cibrian surprised their guests, who arrived at a private estate in Malibu expecting to celebrate at an engagement party (the couple announced their engagement in December 2010). The bride wore a Reem Acra gown and exchanged personalized vows with Cibrian. The groom's two young sons (by ex-wife Brandi Glanville) were present for the ceremony.

Rimes and Cibrian have weathered a bumpy road for the past few years, having met and bonded on the set of the 2008 Lifetime movie Northern Lights while still married to their respective spouses. Their affair came to light in 2009, resulting in mixed and largely negative reactions from the public.

Rimes, who has a history of being open with fans via social media, gave no hints of the impending nuptials leading up to the event--instead, she filled her Twitter account with benign conversations about Easter candy, Earth Day, and Good Friday on her actual wedding day.

Sneaky girl, but we'll forgive her. Congrats and best wishes to the happy new bride and groom!
