[photo: Associated Press]Following earlier family drama this week, when troubled country singer Mindy McCready and her young son Zander were reported missing and she was accused of kidnapping, People magazine is now reporting that Mindy will soon become a mother again...of twins.
A rep for the 36-year-old singer confirmed Wednesday to People that McCready is five months into a pregnancy with twins. As of this writing, the identity of the father is unknown.
On Wednesday, McCready had been reported missing with her 5-year-old son. (McCready, who has previously battled drug and alcohol problems, lost custody of Zander in 2007 after a fight with her mother and resisting arrest.)
Florida authorities told the Associated Press Wednesday that McCready is "currently outside of the terms of her family court stipulation" and must bring her son back to the the Lee County, Fla., area by 5 p.m. Thursday.
Said Cape Coral Police Lt. Tony Sizemore: "The million dollar question is whether she will comply."
"I am working with lawyers to try to get all this straightened out," McCready told Access Hollywood on Wednesday. "I did not steal my child, as it would be impossible for me to kidnap what already belongs to me! There never was any missing persons report and never an Amber Alert."
