Miranda Lambert To Make Acting Debut On ‘Law & Order: SVU’

Her husband already has sealed his place on a hit TV show. Now, is Miranda Lambert set to follow suit with her own on-screen gig?

According to a report from TV Guide as well as Lambert's own official website, Lambert is indeed ready to jump into the world of acting--but in a little bit different capacity than Shelton's coaching role on The Voice. Specifically, she's going to appear on an upcoming episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Miranda Lambert

"Yes!" tweeted Lambert on Saturday, with a link to the TV Guide article. "I'm so freaking excited to be on my favorite show ever!"

Lambert will be playing an actress who accuses a reality-show producer of sexual assault. (I wouldn't want to be the guy who tries that sort of thing with Lambert, would you?) The episode has not yet been scheduled.

Law & Order: SVU, which airs Wednesdays on NBC at 10 p.m. ET, is on the same network as The Voice. Lambert will also be joining Shelton on his show this season, to serve as a mentor to the singers he coaches. Looks like NBC knows where to find great talent!

Lambert released her fourth album, Four The Record, in November 2011. The collection was just certified gold this week, and is her fastest selling album to date.

Do you think Miranda will do well in her acting debut? Be sure to let me know!
