Mitt Romney Carries Country Tunes On The Campaign Trail

Country music crosses political boundaries! Not only is our current Commander In Chief a fan of country music--apparently, one of his main 2012 rivals is a big aficionado of the genre too. GOP hopeful Mitt Rommey has released his official campaign playlist, and more than a third of it consists of songs by country artists.Mitt Romney loves classic and modern country music

"Spending a lot of time on the road means you have to carry good music--here are some of my favorites," Romney tweeted recently, adding a link to his 19-song Spotify playlist. The former governor's country picks include numbers from Johnny Cash, Clint Black, Tim McGraw, Toby Keith, Willie Nelson, Keith Urban, and Carrie Underwood. (Wondering about his other choices? Well, he seems to be a big fan of alt-rock band the Killers; as well as classic rock/pop from artists such as the Beach Boys, Del Shannon, Roy Orbison, and Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons.)

Although Romney and Obama both share country-heavy campaign playlists, their respective selections are considerably different. The President's country choices include Montgomery Gentry, the Zac Brown Band, Dierks Bentley, and two songs each from Sugarland and Darius Rucker.

They may be rivals, but they both have good taste, eh? You can browse Romney's playlist here and Obama's here. (You'll need to have a Spotify account to access them.) Unfortunately I have no word yet on what Rick Santorum is listening to, but I'll be sure to let you know if and when he releases his own list!

In the meantime--be sure to let me know whose list you prefer, and let's leave politics out of it, shall we?!
