Nashville Jumps To Taylor’s Defense; Slams Kanye

She may have crossed over to the pop world, but when it comes down to it--Taylor Swift is rooted in the hearts and souls of the Country community. Last night's VMA incident in which Kanye West interrupted her acceptance speech for Best Female Video spurred a reaction from Nashville that ranged from disapproval to outright rage.

Here's a selection of tweets from country stars over the past few hours.

KELLIE PICKLER: Tator Tot, you handled yourself with Grace. Kanye, go grow some f---ing balls b-tch! don't mess w/my lil sis!!

REBA MCENTIRE: So proud of Taylor winning last night at the VMA's!!!! Way to go girl!!!!! Lesson to all of us to keep a firm grip on the microphone...

JOE NICHOLS: I guess Kanye gets off on picking on little girls. I guess that's part of his small man's complex. I wish I would have won an MTV VMA. Kanye would be missing some teeth if he pulled that s--t on me.

JOHN RICH: KanyeWest is a lowlife. He needs to have his @@@ kicked in the middle of the stage right now! What a piece of @@@@!!! Go TAYLOR SWIFT.

RISSI PALMER: Taylor Swift won me as a fan for life for her grace, as did Beyonce...humility and a humble spirit go a long way in this life and the next

DAVID NAIL: If that Kanye bit was real, he should never be played on radio again! What a jackass!

RANDY HOUSER: Pretty much would love to get redneck on Kanye's ass right now. Classless.

GLORIANA: congratulations sweetheart! Keep ur head up. We love u!

JACK INGRAM: Taylor is graceful amidst weirdness.

JAMES OTTO: Maybe this one will end his career. We can only hope.

DIAMOND RIO: Can't believed what happened to Taylor Swift. Kanye West should be banned from all music events. How disrespectful!

BLAKE SHELTON: How bad does Kanye West want to get laid?...Ha! Ha! I'll bet Beyonce didn't even show him her boobs!!! Sorry y'all but we're just a little bit protective of Taylor Swift around here!! Hey Kanye...By around here, I mean the world!! Moron....

And, probably the best comment of all came not from a Country star, but from a "regular joe" who tweeted this succinct opinion of the entire matter:

Kanye West doesn't like country people.

Needless to say--I'm on Team Taylor and would be even if I weren't Your Friendly Country Blogger. Kanye, shame on you.

As always, be sure to:
