Shania Speaks!

Shania Twain released a personal message to her fans today, promising that she's back in writing mode and ready to serve up some new tunes.

Twain maintains a blog on her label's website, but hasn't updated it in more than a year. Today, she broke the silence, apologizing first for her delay in releasing new music. She then explained that dealing with her personal issues of the past year (Twain separated from husband Robert "Mutt" Lange last May) while trying to be a good mom to 7-year-old son Eja have taken most of her energy.

However, she added the following: "Since then, I've been inspired by my pain to write and use writing as a therapy through the suffering."

Don't get too excited just yet, however--Shania makes sure to caution: "There is no telling how long it will take me to actually finish these songs and record them so they can get out to you...Please be patient and I will do my best to continue working on a finished album!"

Hey, we were utterly thrilled to see Shania finally make her way out in the spotlight again at the CMA Awards last November. Given that she's looking better than she ever has, we're willing to bet she's going to sound just as good, too. So, no problem in waiting a little longer to hear what she's got.

How 'bout you guys--ready for a new album from Shania? Think she's still got the chops? Let us know what you think.

As always...be sure to:
