Do you reeeeeally love Taylor Swift? Well, here's some good news--you can now smell like her! Swift has just launched her first perfume, called Wonderstruck.
The fragrance, put out by Elizabeth Arden and set to hit stores in October, is lushly packaged in a purple bottle with an "iridescent rainbow finish," according to her official site. Swift hand-picked three gold charms to adorn the bottle--a Moravian star, dove and birdcage.
Okay, that's pretty, but how does the stuff actually smell? Apparently, it's "a charming and sparkling surprise of vibrant fruits, kissed by a bouquet of soft petals and a touch of sweet indulgence." Sounds good. Also, sounds very Swiftlike!
Ever the romantic, the superstar noted of her new perfume: "I wrote the lyric, 'I'm wonderstruck, blushing all the way home,' for the song 'Enchanted' about the first time you meet someone. A fragrance can help shape someone's first impression and memory of you. It's exciting to think that Wonderstruck will play a role in creating some of those memories."
Sharp Swift fans will no doubt recall that the song "Enchanted" was allegedly inspired by Owl City's Adam Young--who responded to the song with his own charming remix, plus a heart-melting love note to the blond beauty. In fact, he's apparently the inspiration behind the use of "Wonderstruck" as well--the word is a favorite term of his, which Swift picked up and used in her tune.
So, is Swift's perfume--via its name--yet another coded message to Young? The two singers have not, as of yet, hooked up romantically (what do they need already--a sledgehammer to the heads?!).
But, even if the new scent means absolutely nothing beyond, well, a prettily packaged marketing endeavor--this has been all been a giddy, guilty pleasure to watch.
As always, be sure to:
