Taylor Swift Reveals Album Cover For “Speak Now”

October 25 is a little more than two months away, but Taylor Swift is making sure that her fans aren't going to agonize over the countdown to the release date for her upcoming album. She's been releasing tidbit after tidbit from the project to keep everyone satisfied until T-day.

This week, Swift's treat is a first glimpse at the album cover for Speak Now. Without ado, here it is:

My immediate impression of the cover art is that Swift is playing to her young female audience yet again, as she does brilliantly--why mess with what ain't broke? The swirls, the glitter, the purple! I can just hear my own little daughter right now: "Oh Mommy, she's SOOO PRETTY." Genius marketing.

Swift is, however--as we all know by now--far more than just pretty. She's got a handle on her career and fanbase that would border on shrewd, if it weren't apparently so genuine. You can't fake these things. And, you all don't need me to tell you that Speak Now is going to make history of some sort when it comes out in October.

The next little bit of enticement set to be released from the Speak Now project is the video for first single "Mine," which will debut on August 27 and feature British hunk Toby Hemingway as Swift's love interest.

The song, which was released earlier this month ahead of official plans due to an internet leak, broke records out of the gate. Debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Digital Songs chart and at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100, "Mine" put Swift alongside Mariah Carey as the only female artists in the history of the Billboard Hot 100 Chart to debut more than one single in the Top 5 in a calendar year.

How do you like Taylor Swift's new album cover? Let me hear your thoughts!
