Three Reasons Why Wynonna Judd’s Wedding Was (Probably) Weirder Than Yours

In honor of Wynonna Judd's wedding to Cactus Moser at her Tennessee farm earlier this month--which marked the third time the country star has said "I do"--here's a list of three reasons the couple's nuptials strayed a little on the weird and wacky side.Newlyweds Wynonna Judd and Cactus Moser

Moser's unusual groom's gear. Most husbands-to-be choose to glam up their outfits with the expected stuff--a boutonniere, perhaps a nice wristwatch, and of course a shiny wedding band. Moser? He accessorized his otherwise traditional tuxedo with a .44 Magnum gun.

No reason has been given for bearing arms at the ceremony--Moser is a well-respected Nashville drummer, not a cop or a soldier--but his new wife fully approved of his choice, telling Us Weekly that "He was very 'Maverick.'"

Moser's unexpected "family salute." Not only did Moser pack some heat on the way to his wedding, he chose to fire it off once the deed was done...right in front of his new sister-in-law Ashley Judd's house, which is next door to Wynonna's farm. "I'm sure she really appreciated that if she was home," Wynonna noted to Us Weekly.

Um... "If she was home." Come again? Most folks would assume Ashley would be at her own sister's wedding and not at home holding her ears at Moser's gunshots. Right? Well...no. Neither Ashley nor the sisters' mom, Naomi Judd, were invited to the wedding. In fact, Wynonna admitted that they might not even be aware the ceremony took place.

Wynonna explained that having her mother and sister there--both of whom she's had uneven relationships with over the years--would have made her feel uncomfortable. "If I know Ashley, she would have re-positioned my dress, or Mom would have given me a Kleenex to stuff in my bra, or told me I have something in my teeth," she noted."I just didn't want that. I just wanted to get married!"

The elder Judd sister did invite some family to her special day, namely her own children and Moser's kids from previous marriages.

Judd and Moser dated for two and a half years before he proposed on Christmas Eve, 2011. You can see an exclusive photo of her in her wedding gown here.
