Not only did McGraw treat fans to a special set performed on the deck of San Diego’s Naval landmark the USS Midway, he arrived in style via helicopter, performed both new and old favorites, and finished things off with a dazzling firework show. Not a bad way to celebrate a new chapter in his life!

McGraw himself was thrilled with the special event, and took the time to thank everyone involved, including the staff of the Midway as well as Yahoo! Music. Check out what he had to say about his amazing album launch day!

If you missed the live stream, you can check out highlights of the event here—plus tune in on February 20 for select performances from the show as well as an exclusive interview with McGraw. The singer discusses his new music, new record label, current Vegas residency with wife Faith Hill…and, oh yeah, and what his teenage daughters think about those famous shirtless photos that have been circulating lately! You won’t want to miss it.

McGraw’s new record marks his debut for new label Big Machine Records, after a long and well-documented emancipation from his first label. He’s been making music for 20 years now, with more than 40 million albums sold and three Grammy Awards under his belt. He’s also been recognized by music industry stats tracker Mediabase as the most-played Country artist in the history of their tracking service.
