Once upon a time, singer-songwriter Eric Church was a scared teenager who was worried that he'd gotten his girlfriend into a bit of "trouble." The experience--familiar, no doubt, to many--impacted him to eventually write the single "Two Pink Lines."
In the tune, the girlfriend says "Looks like we were lucky." In other words, the young couple weren't destined to be parents after all.
"Katherine and I are very excited and are looking forward to becoming parents," Church, who's been married for three years, said. "This year has gotten off to an amazing start for us, and this news has made it so much better than we could have ever anticipated."
The new addition to the Church family is expected sometime in the fall. Congrats, Eric and Katherine!
Mr. Church is no doubt also pretty excited about his nomination for New Artist of the Year at this year's Academy of Country Music Awards, which will be held April 3 in Las Vegas. The New Artist award is completely fan-determined, and there is still time to add your vote for your favorite choice--either Church, or the Band Perry who scored the other nomination in the category.
Tough choice, eh? I know I'm having a hard time making a decision as I love them both. Here's a pair of persuasive videos (one from each artist) to help you decide which one to vote for. Church's is a little bit goofy--well, a lot bit goofy (but I dare you not to laugh!)--whereas the Band Perry takes a sweet, serious approach.
You can cast your vote at VoteACM.com all the way up to 5 p.m. on the awards-ceremony day, April 3. The winner will be announced at the show that evening.
Who will you be voting for? Be sure to let me know! Oh, and don't forget to wish Mr. and Mrs. Church congrats on their happy news!
As always, be sure to:
