LeAnn Rimes is clearly concerned about what others think of her health--specifically, her weight. After addressing concerns about her thin physique several times via Twitter, telling various outlets that she does not have an eating disorder, and even starting a blog on her official site discussing the matter--she is now going yet a step further. The singer is planning to offer up a video detailing her specific fitness training, so fans can see exactly what she does to maintain her figure.
The video will be made in conjunction with her personal trainer, Michael Jackson, who said in an interview with a Fox News entertainment blog that the superstar's weight is not an issue, and that she is committed to a healthy lifestyle.
"I know it really bothers her," Jackson told Fox. "A lot of people see pictures of LeAnn and assume certain things."
However, "she's really focused," he adds. "I think that's what a lot of people don't see--all the hard work and dedication that she's put in."
Jackson says he trains with Rimes 3 to 4 times a week, and that her favorite exercise is boxing. They also work together on strength training and stretching. Jackson additionally provides a weekly meal plan for Rimes focusing on natural, unprocessed foods--plus one "cheat meal" at which she can eat whatever she wants.
Rimes's video will probably be posted to her blog sometime next month, according to Jackson, who noted that Rimes is "really anxious" to prove that she is serious about her health.
All of this is fine and well, and I commend Rimes's dedication to sending the right message regarding diet and exercise to her fans. I'll reserve judgement on the fitness video until I see for myself what it entails.
However, I just have one friendly suggestion: LeAnn, if you want to make things easier on yourself, maybe ixnay on so many bikini-clad self-posted portraits. You post a lot of them! It's one thing to have the paparazzi catch you; another entirely to invite it all yourself.
As always, be sure to:
