Well, well, well--here's a new one for the "unusual pairing" books. However, to many of us, I'm sure this won't come as a big surprise.
In fact, according to U.K.-based outlet Sky News, the two may even share the stage at Britain's famed Glastonbury musical festival this weekend (both were booked, and have already performed, separately).
"We're real good friends and have been for a lot of years," Nelson, 77, said of the 38-year-old rapper. "His kids would come down to my place and we'd do videos together and hang out."
As I noted above--this alliance is probably not a big shock to those who are aware of both entertainers' infamous penchants for a certain illegal substance.
Nelson and Snoop are major supporters of marijuana--both in terms of legalization (in fact, Nelson appeared on CNN's Larry King Live in April to discuss his support in this very area) and personal usage (Nelson also admitted to King that he'd smoked pot before going on air).
In fact, according to Sky News, Nelson and Snoop actually first bonded while the two were on tour in Amsterdam, where it is legal to sell and possess quantities of the drug.
It may be a little shallow to determine these stars are friends based mostly on their love of weed--but hey, where there's smoke, there's fire, right? (Sorry, another one of my dreadful puns.)
At any rate, it's a fun story, and I'm sure would be an even more entertaining scene to see the two perform together. I hope to hear news of them joining each other on stage this weekend.
What do you think of Snoop and Willie Nelson as BFFs? Be sure to let me know!
As always, be sure to:
