American Idol, The Day After: Vegas Rounds, Night 1 Dish

Last night, this season's "American Idol" top 40 began competing in Las Vegas, starting with the first 10 girls. And today, my "The Day After" co-host Matt Whitfield and I are feeling pretty frickin' great about Season 12's direction. Matt even thinks the finally-gelling new judging panel of Keith Urban, Nicki Minaj, Randy Jackson, and Mariah Carey may be THE best "Idol" cast yet, based on their excellent critiques last night. And if the judges keep it up on future episodes, then I will totally co-sign that. The judges were indeed on point last night.

Oh--and the talent was fantastic, too! Woot!
