    • Season 10's Sarah SellersDiehard "American Idol" viewers will remember Sarah Sellers as the geek-chic food blogger who made it to Hollywood Week last year. (Watch her Season 10 audition here.) Sarah has since continued her food-blogging, and has been cooking up scrumptious snack suggestions for any "Idol" viewing party and posting them here in Reality Rocks each week. She was also my special guest on a special South By Southwest version of "The Day After" in Austin last month, which you can watch HERE!

    • Phillip Phillips receives a confusing critiqueBack on "American Idol" Season 8, when critiquing Scott MacIntyre's self-described "artistic" song choice, Simon Cowell dared to utter the immortal, dreaded words: "It's fine being artistic...JUST NOT ON THIS SHOW." And I got serious déjà vu this week on "Idol," when Simon's replacement judge Jennifer Lopez similarly criticized this season's resident remaining risk-taker, Phillip Phillips, for covering the dark, relatively obscure Dave Matthews Band song, "The Stone."

J.Lo annoyingly, almost ignorantly called the DMB jam "too artsy," and even voiced concerns that it might land Phillip in the bottom three for the very first time. "Each one of you has a shot to win--especially you, Phillip--so I get a little scared when you do that. I need you to do songs that are going to get you on that last show, so you can win!" (Additionally, Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson blasted Elise Testone for covering a supposedly unknown Jimi Hendrix song, "Bold As Love.")

    • Last night, Adam Levine and Cee Lo Green's final two contestants apiece were revealed on "The Voice"--which means we now know this season's complete top eight. So today, my "The Day After" co-host Matt Whitfield and I discuss our predictions for which four will ultimately move on to the Season 2 finale, and address the obvious pink elephant in the room: the surprising, and disappointing,  gender bias on "The Voice" this year.

    • Team Adam's bottom twoLast week on "The Voice," when Christina Aguilera and Blake Shelton's contestants vied for a spot in the top eight finals, America voted through Team Xtina's Chris Mann and Team Blake's Jermaine Paul, with Christina and Blake respectively saving Lindsey Pavao and Erin Willett. This week, Team Adam and Team Cee Lo competed, and on this Tuesday's results show, America voted for Adam Levine's Tony Lucca and Cee Lo Green's Jamar Rogers; Adam went with Katrina Parker as his own pick, and Cee Lo picked Juliet Simms.

      Notice a pattern here?

    • Season 4's final three divasMonday night, as I watched what was supposed to be the finale of "RuPaul's Drag Race 4," I was on pins and (Sharon) needles as I waited to find out if Chad Michaels, Sharon Needles, or Phi Phi O'Hara would be crowned this year's queen. And the winner was...NO ONE. Shante, everybody stayed.

Argh! It turns out that in a new, obscenely aggravating twist, Season 4's champion will be announced on NEXT Monday's reunion show, after fans vote by using the hashtag #DragRace on Twitter (@RuPaulsDragRace) or by posting on the show's Facebook page.

    • After last week's controversial "instant eliminations" of Jesse Campbell and Jordis Unga, this Monday Adam Levine and Cee Lo Green took control, instantly eliminating two of their own players before the night was through. And while Adam's ousting of fan favorite Pip was a little tough to take, his decision was understandable: Pip, a dyed-in-the-wool-bowtie Gleek, had caught flak the last time he'd tried to act like a rocker on a Killers cover, and this week his Keane performance unraveled when he tried to rock it up once again. However, I think Pip's real mistake this week was going onstage sans his signature bowtie. "Where in the hell is the bowtie? That's like me without alcohol!" Blake Shelton complained. You know, Blake had a point there. But anyway, Pip and his bowtie shall be missed.

    • photo: FoxThe Hollywood Reporter is reporting that, despite rumors that he would leave "American Idol" after Season 11, Ryan Seacrest has officially signed up for two more years on the show he helped make famous. Ryan will continue to rake in the annual salary he has made for the past three years, a cool $15 million (that's the same salary Jennifer Lopez earns on the show), despite "Idol's" recent 30 percent drop in ratings among viewers ages 18-49. "For the last 11 seasons, I've had the privilege to be a part of one of television's most iconic shows. It's been a wild ride, and I'm excited for my journey with 'American Idol' to continue," Ryan said in a statement Monday.

    • Season 5 "American Idol" third-placer Elliott Yamin is one of the series' all-time biggest independent success stories.  His 2007 self-titled first album, on Hickory Records, debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 chart and was the highest new artist debut on an independent label in Soundscan history, eventually going gold. Now Elliott is back with his third post-"Idol" album, aptly titled Let's Get Back To What Real, and amid the chaos backstage at last week's "Idol" results show, he spoke to Reality Rocks about its recent release.
