Astro Releases “Loser” Mixtape on Night of ‘X Factor’ Finale

Astro's new mixtapeAt 10:01pm Pacific time, exactly one minute after the West Coast broadcast of the Season 1 "X Factor" finale, controversial but perpetually fascinating seventh-place contestant Astro (aka the Astronomical Kid) released a free mixtape, cleverly titled LΦSER, available free to his fans (and even his haters) at http://hulkshare.com/otdec7y79ds5. Leave it to Astro to steal a little bit of winner Melanie Amaro's thunder on finale night, huh?

Astro was certainly a subject of discussion during Thursday's finale, despite having been out of the "X Factor" competition for several weeks now. As rumors continued to swirl surrounding his possible signing to Jay-Z's Roc Nation label and a collaboration with "X Factor U.K." alum Cher Lloyd (rumors he neither confirmed nor denied while speaking to press on the red carpet), he also dueted with 50 Cent on the finale and made the show's top five list of the most shocking Season 1 moments. Clearly the kid is a star.

Check out a preview of Astro's mixtape below, with a track all about "The X Factor" and his infamous bad attitude. (Apparently he's not a big fan of the press. Sorry, Astro, just doing my job!) And get LΦSER for free HERE.
