Yes, it was only a matter of time before a larger-than-life character like Sebastian started making the reality-TV rounds. And since becoming a fixture in the Celebreality world, he's continued to showcase his many varied talents, which apparently include beatboxing (Celebrity Rap Superstars), drunkenly annoying Ted Nugent (Supergroup), drunkenly annoying his wife (I Married Sebastian Bach), and, as evidenced on the recently wrapped second season of CMT's Gone Country, impressing Big & Rich's main MuzikMafioso, John Rich.
A little background here: On the first season of Gone Country, a reality show on which sundry D-listers attempt to launch country music careers, John Rich declared Latin-lover heartthrob Julio Iglesias Jr. the ultimate winner. This controversial and frankly baffling decision did not sit very well with many country purists, and Julio's sole Rich-produced single, "The Way I Love You," subsequently tanked at country radio. So this time John seemingly decided to make a more educated decision: Not only did he enlist the assistance of various Nashville movers, shakers, and tastemakers to help select a Gone Country 2 winner, but he clearly picked a contestant with a lengthy and well-rounded résumé.
Only time will tell if this victory marks the beginning of a legit new phase in Sebastian's career, or if it's just another one of his entertainingly opportunistic PR stunts (Bach did try to record some rap-rock after appearing on Celebrity Rap Superstars, after all). But Sebastian's song does actually sound authentically country, in an old-school, cry-in-yer-beer sort of way. So that's promising. Maybe Bach can really "go country" after all. (At least until season 2 of VH1's Supergroup starts shooting, that is.)
