Casey Abrams Announces Record Deal in Cutest Way Possible

Season 10 "American Idol" alum Casey Abrams has something to tell you all. Watch his latest video below for oh-so subtle clues, and try to figure out what that might be...

Yes, Abrams fans, it's true: "Idol" jazzbo Casey has finally landed a record deal! And it's with THE perfect label: Concord Music, home to such crossover jazz and folk acts as Mindi Abair (the sleek blonde sax player who played with Casey and Paul McDonald on "Idol" last year) and James Taylor & Carole King, not to mention catalog releases by John Coltrane, Ray Charles, Miles Davis, and many other legends. So Casey is obviously in good company.

Considering that Casey once told Ryan Seacrest that his dream duet partner was Oscar Peterson--hardly a typical Idol answer--Concord seems like the ideal label for his jazzy aesthetic. (Incidentally, Casey is the second Season 10 "American Idol" contestant to ink with a non-Universal Music Group-owned label, following James Durbin, who signed to Wind-Up Records--another example of an Idol with a very specific style and sound going with a smaller specialty label.)

And if Casey's upcoming album tracks are even half as catchy as his adorable "I Got Signed" ditty above, I'd venture to guess that Concord execs will have some hits on their hands. Casey's album is slated for an early summer 2012 release.

Congrats to Casey and Concord!
