Exclusive: Lee DeWyze’s Next Single Will Be “Beautiful Like You”

Season 9 winner Lee DeWyze will return to the "American Idol" stage this week to perform his until-now-unannounced new single on this Thursday's live results show...and Reality Rocks can exclusively reveal that the song he'll be playing is..."Beautiful Like You"!

Sadly for Lee and his royalties, "Beautiful Like You" is THE one track on his entire Live It Up album which he didn't co-write, and my first impression when I heard the song last year was that it wasn't single material. ("It's more of a solid album track," I wrote at the time.) But upon subsequent listens, I've come to the conclusion that this darker, moodier song better represents Lee's signature sound than his cheery, peppy first single, "Sweet Serendipity":

I would've gone with "Dear Isabelle" or "Me & My Jealousy," personally, but Lee's smoky voice is at its recordable best on this cut, and in parts the tune brings to mind Snow Patrol, OneRepublic, and the Fray. So this is definitely a step in the right direction.

Now...where can I start a petition to make "Dear Isabelle" single number three?
