Exclusive Video Premiere: Nakia, “Tight”

Nakia, a longtime fixture in the Austin music scene, was one of the original Red Zone contestants of "The Voice" Season 1, wowing mentor Cee Lo Green and millions of viewers with his gutsy audition of Cee Lo's own "Forget You" and his live-show performances of Kings Of Leon's "Sex On Fire" and Adam Lambert's "Whataya Want From Me." Now the bluesy growler is back with a new six-song EP, Drown In The Crimson Tide, which impressively features collaborations with powerpop maestro Bleu, Bonnie Raitt/John Fogerty/Eric Burdon cohort Johnny Lee Schell, Grammy-winners the Texicali Horns, and onetime Bob Dylan keyboardist Barry Goldberg, among others.

Yahoo! Music is proud to premiere the first video from the EP, for "Tight," a collaboration with Fitz & The Tantrums producer/co-writer Chris Seefried. And if you watch the video closely, you may see another familiar face--from "The Voice" Season 2...

"The video was shot in one day in Sacramento using fans and friends for the cast, including Lindsey Pavao from Team Xtina," says Nakia. "I had never met her before but [Austin-based Season 2 'Voice' semifinalist] Lex Land told me she lived there, gave me her number, and I invited her to the shoot."

Drown In The Crimson Tide comes out March 5 on the Something-Music label; to pre-order the EP, go to http://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/nakia.
