After taking a lengthy hiatus from the music business following her departure from BMG, Season 8 "American Idol" teen rocker Allison Iraheta — now a married, 21-year-old grown woman — has formed a new band called Halo Circus with guitarist David Immerman and her husband, producer/multi-instrumentalist Matthew Hager. The band recently signed with L.A. indie tastemaker label Manimal Vinyl (via the new pop imprint Badlands), and Yahoo Music's Reality Rocks is thrilled to exclusively premiere their first Manimal single, the torchy and fiery rock ballad "Gone."
The Manimal/Badlands "Gone" single, which will be available via iTunes on October 8, will contain the radio edit of the track (heard here), a version in Allison's native Spanish, and even a stripped-down garage version using only circa-1961 technology, inspired by Allison's hero Roy Orbison. Halo Circus's full-length album is slated for early 2014, so watch this space for more Allison news very soon.
And in the meantime, check out some ringing Halo Circus endorsements from the likes of Slash, Adam Lambert, Duran Duran's John Taylor, the Sex Pistols' Steve Jones, DMC of Run-DMC, and more:
