Great Musical Moments In Reality TV: Keaton Simons Gets Personal On ‘Celebrity Rehab’

Most casual music fans know bluesy singer-songwriter Keaton Simons as "Eric Roberts' stepson," which of course sells Keaton's talent short. But such a reputation must be particularly frustrating for Keaton considering that--as he revealed to Dr. Drew on last week's gripping episode of "Celebrity Rehab"--his druggy relationship with Eric was never exactly lovey-dovey, and until recently he hadn't even spoken to Eric since he was a teenager, when he fled the Roberts-Simons home after a nasty domestic dispute.

Once-respected actor Eric is a current castmate on VH1's "Celebrity Rehab," and Keaton--a former addict who's been sober for nine years now--met with the show's Dr. Drew at the Pasadena Recovery Center on last week's episode, to give the good doctor some insight into Eric's condition. What transpired was a moment of truly real reality television.

But it seems like Eric is finally getting the help he needs (he appears to be one of the more mentally stable "Celebrity Rehab" patients this season, compared to lost-cause castmates like Janice Dickinson and Leif Garrett) and learning from Keaton's sober example--as the stepdad and stepson started repairing their wrecked relationship when they finally met for the first time in 16 years in Dr. Drew's office, on this week's moving "Family Day" episode.

Aw. Anyway, now we know where Keaton gets all the angst he channels into his music. Check out his special song for "Celebrity Rehab" below.
