It’s Official! Interscope Announces Haley Reinhart Record Deal

Last week, Reality Rocks was tipped off by an anonymous "American Idol" source that scrappy-yet-sexy Season 10 underdog Haley Reinhart had been signed to Jimmy Iovine's Interscope Records, joining castmates Scotty McCreery, Lauren Alaina, and Pia Toscano on the label's power roster.

Well, now it's official! Today @InterscopePromo tweeted a jpeg of the press release announcing that Haley's deal has indeed been sealed. "I've always dreamed of getting this kind of recognition. I am very thankful to 19 and Interscope for giving me this oppotunity to create my own music," Haley said in the press release, presumably in a pleasingly sultry and raspy tone.

It will be interesting and exciting to hear what kind of music Haley will create once she gets the chance. In a recent backstage interview she told me she wants her album to be "bluesy, soulful, and funky," and that's exactly what I want it to sound like, too. And considering the public's seemingly insatiable appetite for Adele and recently re-whetted appetite for late torch singer Amy Winehouse, I predict many other fans would be thrilled to hear Haley in full-on bluesy/soulful/funky mode. I honestly think Haley might have a better shot at success than Pia Toscano, if she makes the right album.

Congratulations to Haley and all the Season 10 "Idol" signings. Now, as a side note: Can we get record deals for James Durbin, Casey Abrams, Paul McDonald, and Naima Adedapo too? Just a suggestion...
