"Dancing With The Stars" pro (and one of my favorite former "So You Think You Can Dance" contestants) Lacey Schwimmer is following in the cha-cha-heeled footsteps of her "DWTS" castmates Mark Ballas and Julianne Hough, and getting into the music biz. Her debut single, "Love Soundz," premiered on Ryan Seacrest's morning show this week, and while it's not her first recorded musical effort--she lent guest vocals to electropop band Cash Cash's "Red Cup" last year--it's the first official single released under her name.
Check out the song, "Love Soundz," below (it'll be on iTunes June 21):
True to her dancing background, the track is upbeat, sexy, and clubby; it wouldn't sound out of place on a Kylie or Britney album, really. But "Love Soundz," which was produced and written by The Monsters & The Stranger, is so full of processed beatz and even more processed vocals, it doesn't exactly make it clear whether or not Lacey can, well, sing as awesomely as she dances. It might as well have been recorded by Joanna the disco robot from "DWTS's" famous "Living On Video" performance.
Still, it soundz pretty fun, the perfect brainless party song just in time for summer. And who knows, maybe we'll see Lacey doing a fierce freestyle to it on a future "DWTS" episode! With robots, hopefully!
What do you think of Lacey's "Love Soundz"? Do you love it?
