Nicki Minaj Talks ‘X Factor’ Rumors, Supposed J.Lo Feud

Nicki Minaj performs on "Idol" [photo: Fox]It was diva-vs.-diva moment on "American Idol's" results show this Thursday, when musical guest Nicki Minaj joked, "I was hoping maybe I could come back and be a guest judge. Hey J.Lo, can you scoot over a little bit?" But Jennifer Lopez seemed somewhat unamused by Nicki's bossy request, retorting through a tight, gritted-toothed smile, "I don't know if there's enough room for both of us." J.Lo may have been trying to make her own joke about her and Nicki's famously curvy posteriors when she made that "not enough room" comment, but the entire exchange still came across as a tad awkward.

Speaking backstage with reporters after her "Starships" performance about this tense TV moment, Nicki quipped, "She didn't seem to be having it--but she gonna have it! When I come through, she gonna move!" She then added, "No, actually, I love J.Lo. I love what she's done for pop culture. I have nothing but respect for her, and we were just joking around. I'm sure I'll have lots of fun with them when I'm guest-judging."

When asked about becoming a permanent judge on any reality show--including Simon Cowell's "The X Factor"--Nicki answered, "I did consider that. I love Simon. But no, I actually don't want to be a judge on anyone's show....a guest judge, maybe. For something like 'American Idol,' it's pretty historic, it's an iconic show, and it has been around for so long and created so many stars. You know, it has integrity. So I would love to [be an 'Idol' guest judge]. But as far as sitting down every week, I can't. Not right now."

Perhaps J.Lo will be relieved to hear that.
