Oops, They Finally Did It: Jedward Meet Britney

Jedward onstage with BritneyJedward, aka "The X Factor U.K.'s" twin towers of hair, John and Edward Grimes, sure have come a long way since Simon Cowell declared their performance of "Oops, I Did It Again" the worst performance in "X Factor" history. They've since gone on to become the most successful alums from "X Factor U.K." Season 6, compete in the Eurovision finals (and soon represent Ireland at Eurovision 2012), and even perform for President Obama. But Jedward still saw encountering the American president as a stepping stone towards their main celebrity goal: Coming face-to-face with American sweetheart Britney Spears, the girl who inspired their Simon-infuriating landmark "X Factor" performance. "We are one step closer to meeting Britney Spears," they declared after performing for Obama earlier this year.

And now, Jedward's dream has finally come true. On Friday night, October 28, the double divas of Dublin joined Britney onstage during her concert at the O2 Arena in London, and they nearly upstaged her with their tireless enthusiasm, huge hair, and silver suits.

After this "Jepic" event, the twins were also invited to meet Britney, and these ultimate Spears fanboys subsequently let loose a spree of elated tweets, many in Kanye-esque all-caps, including: "We are backstage! This is the most coolest thing eveeeeeeer! It's craZy we are gonna be breathing the same air! It's Britney Air! #JEDWARDLoveBRITNEY #JEDWARDmeetingBRITNEY"

And Britney even tweeted them back the next day, replying: "@PlanetJedward You both were incredible on stage during 'I Wanna Go' last night... love you guys! -Brit" At this point, Jedward's Twitter page practically imploded. Sample Jedward reactions:

"BRITNEY SPEARS KNOWS WHO WE ARE SHE TWEETED US!"

"OMG OMG BRITNEY SPEARS JUST RT' US BEST MOMENT EVER ON TWITTER AND DANCING ON STAGE! BRITNEY IS HOT!"

"ALL OUR FANS WEAR YOUR PERFUME FANTASY AND BELIEVE AND CURIOUS THEY KNOW WE LIKE IT BECAUSE ITS YOUR PERFUME @britneyspears"

Congrats to the boys. They deserve it. And I know they'd never agree with me, but I actually prefer this O2 Arena rendition of a Britney classic:

By Todd Cunningham LOS ANGELES (TheWrap.com) - "Iron Man 3" was soaring past $1 billion at the worldwide box office Thursday, in a display of world domination that would make one of Marvel's super villains proud. The box-office bounty - roughly $700 million from abroad and $300 million domestically - is a major triumph for Disney, which bet big on comic book superheroes when it bought Marvel Studios for $4 billion in 2009. And its decision to bring aboard a Chinese partner for "Iron Man 3" and focus the Disney marketing machine on the booming foreign market looks pretty good right now, too. ...
