Scott MacIntyre may best be known to casual TV viewers as "the first blind guy on 'American Idol'" (those are his
joking words), but there is so much more to him than that. With a long history of classical training, musical scholarships, and independent recordings in both the classical and pop genres, the gifted 24-year-old pianist and former child prodigy should be famous for more than just Ryan Seacrest's ill-advised high-five or those notorious pink pants.
Scott just self-released his seventh (yes, SEVENTH) solo album, the surprisingly and pleasingly powerpoppy Heartstrings
--in the process joining his Season 8 castmates (Anoop Desai, Megan Joy, Matt Giraud) who are becoming indie posterchildren, as they wisely take their post-"Idol" careers into their own capable hands. Scott recently stopped by Yahoo! HQ to chat about the new disc, as well as about being fiercely independent, life after "Idol," and returning to the "Idol" stage in Season 9. And he certianly had a lot to say. See below!
