No one knows yet if it will by PSY, Kenny Chesney or even Daft Punk that sweeps the 56th Annual Grammy Awards. The host of the event hasn’t even been announced let alone any of the nominees.
All anyone knows for sure, thanks to a press release that arrived Monday, is that the event will take place on January 26, 2014 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The event will air from 8 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. EST on CBS.
Recording artists who released albums between October 1, 2012 and September 30, 2013 are eligible for awards.
The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences also announced that the following year’s event, the 57th Grammy Awards, will air live on February 8, 2015. We’re guessing PSY won’t be around anymore by then.
This year’s Grammys also took place at the Staples Center and was hosted by L.L. Cool J. Jay-Z, Kanye West, The Black Keys and Skrillex won three awards each at the event, which featured performances by Taylor Swift, Fun, Mumford & Sons, Justin Timberlake, Jay-Z, Maroon 5, Alicia Keys and others. The night also included star tributes to Bob Marley, Dave Brubeck, Levon Helm and Adam Yauch.
