A Stroke Of Holiday Genius: Julian Casablancas Covers SNL Xmas Classic

A few years ago, a new holiday classic was added to the jingle-bell-rock songbook, when Jimmy Fallon, Tracy Morgan, Chris Kattan, and Horatio Sanz donned garish snowflake sweaters and portable synthesizers, and memorably performed "I Wish It Was Christmas Today" on Saturday Night Live.

Sadly, none of those comedians are on SNL anymore, but this song is the gift that keeps on giving--as evidenced by Strokes singer Julian Casablancas, who has Christmas-miraculously recorded his own garage-rockin' version of the Casio carol, and performed live it this week on Jimmy Fallon's late-night talk show with Fallon and special guest Sanz:

A Stroke of holiday genius, indeed.
