Amy Winehouse’s Last Clothing Collection For Fred Perry Features Amy Print

Today, Fred Perry has released the fourth and final collection designed by singer Amy Winehouse for spring 2012. The 14-piece collection features cute, clean, and classic Fred Perry pieces with some personal Winehouse touches like cropped tops and longline sweaters. Like Winehouse's fall 2011 collection for the British brand, all royalties and fees that would've gone to the singer will be donated to the Amy Winehouse Foundation in addition to the brand's vow to continue with seasonal donations.

Inspired by her own signature retro style, the singer infused her love for '50s Miami art deco architecture with this collection with the inclusion of pastel pinks and blues, and mixing  recognizably '50s designs with simple, modern basics, '60s mod pieces, and Fred Perry's iconic polo shirt. My personal favorite is the belly-baring tie-up printed shirt, even if it seems like a strange piece to start selling during the winter season. Turns out instead of waiting for spring, Fred Perry launched the collection this week to coincide with the release of Amy's posthumous album, Lioness: Hidden Treasures. However, orders will not be shipped until December 12.

What is most surprising about this collection is the custom print created featuring cartoons of singer. Surrounded by jukeboxes, music bars, vintage Cadillacs, and all things '50s, the bouffant-ed Amys in the print are seen laughing, holding records, and canoodling with a fellow cartoon hunk (longterm on-and-off again husband Blake Fielder-Civil, maybe?). The print is adorable and is a sweet homage, but I can't help but feel that the inclusion of Winehouse's image is a little morbid, at least at this point. On the other hand, pieces using the print could end up as collectors' items in the future, since Winehouse had personally worked on the design.

While the dress Winehouse wore on the cover of her Back To Black album fetched over $56,000 at a fundraiser auction for her foundation, her Fred Perry collection will cost you about $86-$305 (depending on conversion rates). Pretty reasonable, even if you were in London at the time of her death, you may have been able to get clothes from Winehouse's own closet for free.

By Todd Cunningham LOS ANGELES (TheWrap.com) - "Iron Man 3" was soaring past $1 billion at the worldwide box office Thursday, in a display of world domination that would make one of Marvel's super villains proud. And its decision to bring aboard a Chinese partner for "Iron Man 3" and focus the Disney marketing machine on the booming foreign market looks pretty good right now, too. ...
