An attorney for Michael Jackson's mother claimed that the pop star's musical genius and huge heart were "extinguished forever," during the opening statements he gave in Michael Jackson's wrongful death lawsuit trial, which began Monday in Los Angeles.

The lawsuit was brought by Jackson's mother, Katherine Jackson, against concert giant AEG Live, alleging the concert giant should be held criminally responsible for her son's death in 2009, resulting from a fatal dose of the sleep aid Propofol.

Brian Panish, the attorney for the pop star's mother, told the Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday that AEG owed it to Michael Jackson to investigate the doctor who was held criminally responsible for his death.

Aerosmith will play the last two shows of their Australian tour without bassist Tom Hamilton, who has gone back home to recover from a chest infection. In his place, the band flew in Dirty Angels founder David Hull to Melbourne for last night’s show at the Melbourne Myer Music Bowl.

Hull is expected to remain with Aerosmith for at least the final two dates of their Australian tour, May 1 in Brisbane and May 4 in Melbourne. It is unclear whether Hamilton will be ready to rejoin the band in time for their May 8 show in Manila, Philippines or their May 11 concert in Jakarta, Indonesia. After that, the band will take a two month breaking after the Jakarta show, leaving Hamilton plenty of time to recover. Aerosmith is currently touring for its latest album Music From Another Dimension, which came out November 6, 2012 and debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 200 album chart.

Hull is no stranger to the Aerosmith camp. He is a member of guitarist Joe Perry’s side band The

It appears Fantasia is taking the title of her new single, "Lose to Win," to heart, as the former American Idol winner has lost her house. A financial crunch forced her to transfer the deed of her $1.1 million North Carolina home back to the bank and she exits the deal empty handed.

Fantasia's financial troubles began back in 2009, when she had to borrow against the house to pay her taxes, nearly sending the home into foreclosure. Last year, she tried to sell the house -- once featured on the VH1 series Fantasia For Real -- for $800,000, considerably less than she paid for it, but apparently there were no takers.

Court documents say Fantasia transferred the deed over to the bank in February to avoid foreclosure, but the deal leaves her without the house, according to TMZ.
