If you're jonesin' for some new Coldplay, you're in luck. The band has a new release available from Apple, but you won't find it in the iTunes store. Rather, you'll have to turn to the iBookstore, because it's not an album, but a comic book series that bears the same name of the band's six-million-selling 2011 album, Mylo Xyloto. And if you're a huge fan of Coldplay, or even a casual observer, you even luckier, because the first issue is the iBookstore's Book of the Week, so it's available for free at itunes.com/ColdplayComics. The other books in the series will be released monthly, through July.
If you're more into physical releases than digital, Coldplay has an option for you. The band will celebrate Record Store Day in the U.K. on April 20 with Issue One of the comic book paired with a special seven-inch picture disc of "Hurts Like Heaven" and "Us Against The World (Live)." If you're not in the U.K., you'll still have an opportunity to buy the special limited-edition package a week later through Coldplay.com and selected independent record stores.

Elton John Goes off the Deep End on New Album
By Craig Rosen | Stop The Presses! – Tue, Apr 16, 2013 3:16 PM EDT
(Frederick M. Brown, Getty Images)Sir Elton John recently previewed his new album, The Diving Board, for an elite crowd of record executives, industry insiders and journalists. The album is due in September. As a result of the merger of Universal and EMI, Elton now records for Capitol, the label home of The Beatles and The Beach Boys.Yet Elton has turned to yet another legend, Bob Dylan, for inspiration. "I wanted at 66 years of age to make records that I think befits a person of my age," Elton said during a Q&A session following the album playback, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "Like Modern Times by Bob Dylan. When I heard that record I went, 'My God, this record could have been made any time in the last 50 years!' It's brilliant and I want to try to make records as good as that. And [Dylan] is the person that we look up to. He's the person that we aspire to be as artists because he's always changing, he's always mercurial, he's always like a chameleon. And his quality control is pretty damn good."

(Theo Wargo, Getty Images)King-sized entertainer Meat Loaf (a.k.a. Marvin Lee Aday), has told the UK paper The Guardian that he’s about to stop touring for good. "I want to concentrate more on acting," he said. "That's where I started and that's where I'll finish. This time, they're not going to rope me back in."
Over the past decade, Aday, 65, has been plagued by health issues and now longs for the creature comforts of home. Just recently, he has to cancel or postpone five of his eight UK concerts. But he claims the latest one, Sunday night in Nottingham, wasn’t his fault. Just hours before he was due on stage, a post went up on Meat Loaf’s Facebook page stating, “several members of the band” were too sick to perform and the show would be rescheduled for May 20.

(Kevin Mazur, WireImage)Drake often presents himself as a player in his music.
On his new "Girls Love Beyoncé" song, though, the Canadian rapper-singer revisits Destiny's Child's "Say My Name," asking the girl he's singing and rapping to to say his name in order to ensure no one else is around her.
"Girls Love Beyoncé" gets its title from the first line of Drake's lyrics, but the song is not about Beyoncé.

(Gabriel Olsen, FilmMagic)It looks like Rihanna isn’t feeling quite as sparkly as her “Diamonds” tour name would suggest. The pop superstar has had to cancel another date on her world tour because she’s feeling under the weather.
Concert promoter Live Nation announced Monday that she was cancelling that evening’s concert in Houston “as a result of illness” and that fans should hold on to their tickets and redeem them at a rescheduled show.

By Wendy Geller | Stop The Presses! – Tue, Apr 16, 2013 12:21 PM EDTBeyoncé has never been afraid to let her fashion flag fly, having rocked eye-catching styles from giant statement earrings to a exotic-skins catsuit in recent months. However, the superstar truly outdid herself for the opening of her 2013 Mrs. Carter World Tour Monday in Serbia, sporting a bodysuit that is the last word in trompe l'oeil.
(Photo: Kauffman/GoldenEye/Splash News)At first glance…well, we know what you're thinking. But go ahead and take another look. The seemingly X-rated garment is not transparent, it's simply a fool-the-eye mosaic of sequins. Pretty tricky!

(Twitter, Boston Globe)The explosions that rocked the Boston Marathon finish line Monday touched many in the pop music community. Joey McIntyre, a member of Eighties superstar Boston-based pop group New Kids on the Block, actually ran in the event but was uninjured.
"There was an explosion by the finish line about five minutes after I finished," he Tweeted. "I'm OK but I'm sure there are many hurt."
“Just Heard that Joey McIntyre is OK!” Tweeted his concerned band mate Donnie Wahlberg when he received the news of the disaster. "Scared for everyone else in Boston. Prayer for Boston please."

By Jon Wiederhorn | Stop The Presses! – Mon, Apr 15, 2013 5:45 PM EDT
(Taylor Hill, FilmMagic)The two leaders of The Rolling Stones seem to have differing opinions about when the band will start working on the follow-up to its last studio album, 2005’s A Bigger Bang.
In a recent interview with USA Today, Jagger said Stones fans just aren’t interested in hearing new material. "It would be nice to have a new album, but people don't like the new album when you play it onstage," he said. "They glumly look at you. 'OK, it will be over in a minute.' It's not a good excuse, but it's the truth and has to be said."
Guitarist Keith Richards, on the other hand, feels like the band’s upcoming tour would be the ideal time for the band to start banging out some new songs.
