  • Rimes with Cibrian and his sons (FilmMagic)LeAnn Rimes concluded her in-patient stint in rehab for emotional issues and celebrated by spending a night out with her family. The singer accompanied her husband, Eddie Cibrian, and his two young sons — Mason, 9, and Jake, 5 — to the Los Angeles premiere of "Batman Live!" on Thursday — and appeared to be enjoying herself.

Wearing a black dress and booties, the 30-year-old country singer was smiling and goofing around with her family on the black carpet. They all had mini stick-on moustaches attached to their fingers and posed with them pressed to their upper lips. Rimes and Cibrian, 39, stuck together, holding hands most of the time. Prior to the show, Rimes tweeted a photo of herself wearing sequined ears, writing, "Channeling my inner Cat Woman for Batman Live." Her youngest stepson, Jake, was even more into the experience, wearing a black cape and Batman mask to the show.

  • Meat Loaf (Photo: Angela Weiss)It's a simple question, but it's endured--and hasn't really been definitively answered--over the decades. What is the real deal behind iconic musician/actor Meat Loaf's stage name?

The superstar, who was born Marvin Lee Aday in Texas and turns 65 on Thursday, has a long history of creating stories to answer this query--it's actually become part of the legend's legend itself. Nearly every profile of him out there notes the dozens of tales that he's told in order to explain the unusual moniker; ranging from the logical (it originated from his high school football coach in relation to his girth), to the bit insane (he allegedly allowed a Volkswagen Beetle to be pushed over his head on a dare, resulting in his friends calling him "meatloaf for brains").

It's tough to tell which is the absolute truth, or whether all the explanations have a grain of truth to them. As he noted in a 2003 interview, "Names and ages piss me off. So I just continually lie."

  • No Doubt released their first new album in 11 years this week--but in other news, could it be that they also have a new member as well? Looks like if it were up to lead singer Gwen Stefani's 4-year-old, Zuma, that would be the case! Stefani revealed on the Ellen DeGeneres Show Tuesday that her younger son has been jamming with his mom's band frequently.

"Zuma's the one who's showing more interest in the guitar," Stefani explained to DeGeneres. "Since he was tiny, he's always played guitar--well, he doesn't really play guitar, but he thinks he does."

As proof, the show's audience was treated to an adorable clip of No Doubt soundchecking, with a headphone-wearing Zuma accompanying on his chosen instrument. "Oh my God," exclaimed a delighted DeGeneres. "That's hilarious!"

  • Tuesday, September 25 has been designated Voter Registration Day. Before you write this off as yet another "day of some random significance" to ignore--take a moment to consider. Do you know for sure if you are properly registered to vote this election year?

If this seems like a strange question, it really isn't, for many people. Here's some eye-opening stats: A recent survey conducted by non-partisan voter registration organization HeadCount found that young voters who first cast a Presidential ballot in 2008 could be in for a surprise when they head to the polls this year.

Seven out of 10 of these voters had moved in the last four years, and 43 percent of those potential voters haven't updated their voter registration since. More than half weren't sure if they were registered to vote at their current address, nearly half are unsure of the ID requirements to vote in their state, and a whopping 62% have either not updated their voter registration or aren't certain if they have. That means that an awful lot of people this year may be having trouble at the polls.

Dave MatthewsWe're all aware of the importance to vote, but now HeadCount is aiming to educate young voters on the process of properly registering to vote. So today, more than 100 pop-culture figures, including musicians such as Dave Matthews, Linkin Park, Wilco, 50 Cent, Snoop Lion, Phish, Cake, Cyndi Lauper, John Legend, Jason Mraz, Ani DiFranco, and Weird Al Yankovic--plus many more--will be holding up signs saying "Register to Vote Here" on a special Facebook page which contains all the info citizens need to register and make sure they are ready to cast their vote legally in November.

  • It's not just politicians who seem to be flip-flopping this season. Add Lynyrd Skynyrd to that category, as people curious about the flap over their Confederate flag stance: Were they against it before they were for it (again)?

Lynyrd Skynyrd with their once- (and future?) favorite flag (Getty Images)After making statements that indicated the band was no longer using the Confederate flag on stage, and suffering a huge backlash from much of their Southern fanbase as a result, Skynyrd has moved to staunch the bleeding. "We still utilize the Confederate (Rebel) flag on stage every night in our shows," guitarist Gary Rossington proudly—or fearfully?—declared in a public statement on the band's website and Facebook page.

  • Courtesy Splash NewsReady to meet Lady Gaga's meat, yet again? The superstar singer is continuing on a seemingly endless quest to offend vegetarians with yet another version of her infamous "meat dress"--this time, in a showy corset version much more form-fitting than the original. (Er, as form-fitting as a garment made of meat can be, that is.)

Gaga's "meat corset" debuted at a concert in Budapest last month and made a repeat appearance at her show in Amsterdam this week. The corset featured a strapless neckline and, reportedly, a thong-style backside...how comfortable that could be, we're not quite certain. Of course, Gaga chose matching "meat booties" to complete the look.

Although certainly revealing, this outfit isn't the most risque in Gaga's meat locker. She wore a bikini made of the stuff for the September 2010 cover of Vogue Japan. The original "meat dress" was worn for the 2010 Video Music Awards, and is now part of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's exhibit "Women Who Rock: Vision, Passion,

  • Paul McCartney (Photo: Tim Whitby)"Lead singer of a famous rock band" shapes up to be a pretty lucrative gig no matter how one slices it--but ever wondered which lead singer is the richest of them all? Not surprisingly, the title goes to legendary Beatle Paul McCartney, who tops a list over such other megabucks-frontmen as U2's Bono, Elton John, Jimmy Buffett, and Rolling Stone Mick Jagger.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, there's absolutely nothing "Yesterday" about McCartney's bank account--unless you count the songwriter's royalties he's collecting for that particular song (which has been played more than 7 million times on radio since its release). Based on public records of his various holdings, investments, and earnings, he's valued at $800 million.

  • Bob Dylan in Rolling Stone, out FridayJudging from his comments in a new Rolling Stone interview, Bob Dylan may have a more "Tempest"-uous personality than many of us knew.

Interviewer Mikal Gilmore writes in the introduction to the cover story that Dylan "opened up unflinchingly, with no apologies," and that's certainly true when it comes to the legend taking on his critics, especially those who've accused him of plagiarizing literary figures. "People have tried to stop me every inch of the way," Dylan says in the interview. "They've always had bad stuff to say about me… F--- 'em. I'll see them all in their graves."
